4) Breastfeed, if possible: Studies have shown that breastfeeding for at least a year or more lowers the risk of breast cancer.
5) Avoid alcohol and smoking: Both non-smokers and smokers are aware of the dangers of smoking. Besides lowering the quality of life and increasing the risk of stroke, heart disease, and at least 15 types of cancers, including breast cancer. Both smoking and alcohol cause smelly breath, bad teeth, and ageing. Now that’s a good motivation to stay smoke-free and alcohol-free.
6) Develop clean and healthy eating habits. A well-balanced and nutritious diet will surely add extra years to your life. Include fresh fruits, greens, seeds, and nuts in your daily diet. Let your body get the nutrients it requires from natural sources. Avoid eating junk food, which is an invitation to different diseases.
7) Stay physically active:A healthy diet and exercise go hand in hand when it comes to your health. Physically active women have a lower risk of many diseases, including breast cancer. Regular exercise, at least for 30 minutes daily, keeps your body and mind healthy and fit.
8) Keep your weight in check:Maintaining proper weight is an important factor for everyone. Being obese or overweight can increase the risk of not only different diseases but different cancers, including breast cancer, particularly after menopause. So, make sure you keep a check on your weight by having healthy food and regular exercise.
