Overview

The Bowen technique was developed in the 1950s by the late Tom Bowen, from Geelong, Australia. Bowen became a celebrated therapist, routinely treating over 13,000 patients each year. The Bowen Therapy Acadmey of Australia was founded in 1987, and since then, over 25,000 therapists worldwide have trained in the art of Bowen Therapy.

Bowtech®, the original Bowen technique is a gentle form of bodywork, where subtle moves performed over the muscles and connective tissues send messages deep into the body retrieving cellular memory of a preferred, relaxed, balanced way of well-being. The original Bowen technique is considered very gentle, and appropriate for everyone – pregnant women, newborn babies, the frail and the elderly. It can assist recovery from many conditions, from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending on an individual’s capacity to heal.
