What We Offer

Our Scope Includes:

Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression: A procedure that achieves lumbar decompression surgery with minimal collateral tissue trauma.

Microdiscectomy: Considered the gold standard for removing herniated portions of a disc pressing on a nerve, also used for spinal deformity correction in conditions like scoliosis, kyphosis, and spinal reconstructions.

Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF): Best suited for fusion surgery in the lower lumbar spine, especially at the L4-5 and L5-S1 levels. ALIF surgery restores normal spine alignment and lumbar lordosis with minimal invasion and no damage to spine muscles or structures.

Oblique Lumbar Interbody Fusion (OLIF): A minimally invasive lumbar fusion technique performed through small incisions on the side of the belly, beneficial for cases of adult spinal deformity surgery.

Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion (XLIF): Surgical treatment for adult degenerative scoliosis (DS).

Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion Treatment: A fusion technique performed through the back incision, clearing space between vertebrae and removing disc material.

Anterior Cervical Discectomy/Corpectomy and Fusion: A procedure addressing compressive cervical myelopathy caused by degenerative changes in the cervical spine.

Posterior Cervical Foraminotomy: A minimally invasive procedure enlarging the space through which the nerve root exits from the spinal cord and removing disc pieces pressing on the nerve.

Cervical Laminoplasty: Beneficial for patients with compressive cervical myelopathy due to degenerative changes in the cervical spine.

Posterior Cervical Instrumentation and Fusion: Stabilisation of spinal bones or vertebrae.

Minimally Invasive SI Joint Fusion: Surgery for selective patients with Sacroiliac joint dysfunction and pain, yielding gratifying results in properly selected cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.1 What is spine surgery?
Ans: Spine surgery refers to surgical procedures performed on the spine to treat conditions affecting the spinal column, spinal cord, and surrounding structures.
Q.2 When is spine surgery recommended?
Ans: Spine surgery is recommended when conservative treatments (such as medications, physical therapy, or injections) have not provided relief for conditions like herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal deformities (scoliosis), spinal fractures, or tumors.
Q.3 What are the common types of spine surgery?
Ans: Common types of spine surgery include discectomy (removal of a herniated disc), spinal fusion (joining two or more vertebrae), laminectomy (removal of the lamina to relieve pressure on the spinal cord), and spinal decompression (to relieve nerve compression).
Q.4 How do I prepare for spine surgery?
Ans: Preparation for spine surgery involves consulting with a spine surgeon, undergoing pre-operative testing (such as imaging scans and blood tests), stopping certain medications as advised, and making arrangements for post-operative care and recovery.
Q.5 What are the risks associated with spine surgery?
Ans: Risks of spine surgery include infection, blood clots, nerve damage, complications from anesthesia, spinal fluid leaks, and failure to relieve symptoms. Discuss these risks with your surgeon before surgery.
Q.6 Are there alternative treatments to spine surgery?
Ans: Yes, alternative treatments may include physical therapy, medications, spinal injections (such as epidural steroid injections), chiropractic care, acupuncture, and lifestyle modifications to manage symptoms.
Q.7 Can spine surgery be performed using minimally invasive techniques?
Ans: Yes, advancements in spine surgery include minimally invasive techniques that use small incisions, specialized instruments, and imaging guidance to perform surgery with less disruption to surrounding tissues and faster recovery times.
