Covid Patients
As Corona virus disease spreads across the world, healthcare community is preparing itself for the various challenges associated with it. We at Jehangir Hospital have been streamlining and evolving our workflows for rapid diagnosis and clinical management, infection prevention, quality care and safety protocols. Because all of this matters not only to the COVID patients but also to our healthcare workers and other non COVID patients :
Patient Safety
Patients are clinically triaged and guided further. Our team of physicians assesses and advises them on further course of action.
Staff Safety
If you feel unwell such as having fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention. If you are going to visit the hospital, you need to know the following.
Infection control
Our Hospital Infection control committee guides on processes on environmental cleaning, disinfection and cohorting patients. Waste management protocols are abided by at all times and are in line with the local regulations. Approved and Verified chemicals are put to use for stringent infection control. Personal protective equipment of standard quality is provided for our patients and staff.
Quality Systems
Stringent and standardized protocols are put into place by various stakeholders and staffs are trained to follow these. Surveillance measures are in place to check the compliance to these protocols.
How Can You Help Us to Fight Covid When You Visit the Hospital?
Stay Home!
If you feel unwell such as having fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention. If you are going to visit the hospital, you need to know the following.
Before leaving for the hospital:
Call the appointment desk to confirm the availability of service that you are seeking. Carry minimal things but we recommend you carry your own water bottles for safety purposes.
What to Expect as You Are About to Enter:
Triage Desk: As you visit the hospital you will be guided to the main gate on the porch. You will find a triage desk here. This desk is manned by security and our front office executive.
Maintain Physical Distancing
Maintain at least 2 metre (6 feet) distance between yourself and the other person. Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.
Maintain Hygiene:
You will be asked to cover your mouth with a mask. A cloth mask would also be good enough. Followed by this you will be asked to use the hand rub to sanitize your hands. Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.
Declare History:
You will be given a screening questionnaire to fill. Answer all the questions correctly without hiding any information. Depending on the answers filled, we will help you through the OPD services.
Continue to maintain hygiene:
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth. Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately. You will find waste bins in the premises and OPD complex. Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.
OPD complex:
While waiting in the OPD complex you will find that the seating arrangements have been altered in order to ensure physical distancing. Please do not alter these seats and use the ones that are available.
Billing Services:
We advise you to use digital payment methods as they are no-touch/ minimal touch transactions. Please follow the floor markings while standing in the billing queue.
