At Jehangir Tumor removal is usually accomplished through a key hole technique called Transsphenoidal Approach. In this a small half inch hole is made in the back wall of the nose using a 4mm telescope, small surgical instruments and a high resolution imaging system. The approach is through the nostril, avoiding opening of a part of the skull (craniotomy) in most cases. If the tumour is large it is cut into smaller pieces and removed through the created tunnel. |
